Dannii Minogue Disses Holly Valance, Admits UK Great Launching Pad For Popstars

Dannii Minogue, speaking to the press, admitted that the UK is by far the best place in the world to kick-off an international pop career.

“It’s because it’s the best place to earn money and it’s also a good place to start in the music industry as you get more international recognition over here” Dannii explained.

“But it’s still hard. So many people have come over from Australia to try to crack Britain, but there’s only me, Kylie and Natalie Imbruglia still here.”

When a journalist reminded Dannii about Holly Valance’s appearance on the charts, Dannii sniped “Well, that girl’s not been on the scene for a year yet. There have been plenty of Australian one-hit wonders.”

Bitching aside, Dannii said she’s looking forward to the release of her fourth album, which is due out early next year, and that she’s never felt as confident as artist as she does right now.

“I’ve improved the most in my singing over the last year” she admitted. “It’s really exciting because I’ve learned to control my voice, and now I don’t always sound like me. I had voice training for the musical Notre Dame. When I then went into the recording studio it was like doing an exam, I really noticed the difference.”

J Lo Got Cursed By Fans

Everybody knows Jennifer Lopez grew up in the Bronx and she recently taped an interview with Diane Sawyer over there. What did the residents think? They say “J Ho” is anything but ‘Jenny From The Block.’

For the cameras, she visited the Holy Family Catholic school she attended as a child, stopped across the street at the yellow house where she used to dance for her parents in the living room and stopped in at the Crossbronx pizza shop on the corner.

Bodyguards shoved excited kids out of her way, residents said, leaving one tiny fan in tears.

“The kids were cursing at J Lo because she wouldn’t acknowledge them” says Emily Estevez. “These are the very same kids who look up to her, who beg their parents to go see her movies, buy her CDs, her perfume, her clothes. These are the ones that put her where she is today and look what she has done that bloody cow!”

Like I Love You : Bootleg Remix

Are Underground remixes bring pop artists more credibility or underground artists and place to stand in more commerical areas? Its a difficult question. One of the latest plundering remixes to hit the web is an offering from an Australian artist, Dsico, whose mixes have recently been mentioned in Rolling Stone Magazine and even Entertainment Weekly.

Its difficult to understand why these often obnoxious renderings might be popular, the latest remix is no exception. Its a jarring and distorted remix of the latest no.1 single by Justin Timberlake “Like I Love You”. Try it for your self here.

Truth Hurts Eagerly Waits For Beyonce’s Solo LP

Truth Hurts, in a radio interview, said “I don’t listen to the radio so if I have or was to buy anybody’s disc, it’s because I feel they are a true artist!”

The sexy lady who gave us that brilliant Bollywood-sounding number, told all who tuned in who’s been making the rounds on her cd player these days. “I have Jill Scott, India.Arie, my girl Lauryn Hill, but who I’m really looking forward to is … Beyonce Knowles!”

“People really don’t know the talent that this woman has, the beautiful humanitarian that she is and she’s a sweetheart! But people hate her because she is up front in your face like what! I’m beautiful, talented, sexy, and a business woman!”

“Beyonce is like an onion and no she doesn’t smell. There are just so many layers to her, that she’s going to peel off slowly with everything that she does, and the world is not ready!”

Blazin Squad And That Flop Eurovision Song

Those Blazin Squad boys really want us to believe they’re street tough rascals but when you discover who’s been writing their songs, all that urban coolness flies straight out the window.

Not only has most of their upcoming album been produced by Absolute, the men behind Geri Halliwell, Abs and Spice Girls, their new single, ‘Love On The Line’, has been co-written by a man who penned a flop Eurovision song!

Songwriter Russ Ballard was responsible for the dodgy track, ‘No Dream Impossible’, which Lyndsay D performed at last year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Unsurprisingly, the song, met a sorry end, coming 15th in the competition in Copenhagen.

Recently the boys revealed that although their first couple of singles are pretty soppy affairs, their album will feature a tougher sound.

“We’ve gone for a loot of styles” Kenzie revealed. “We’ve gone for rap, hip hop, drum & bass, R&B, garage, a bit of something for everyone, really. It’s not rough music. We don’t come from that background. We don’t talk about guns.”

“We’re not gonna release ‘Crossroads’ then follow it up with a gangsta tune. I think it’d be the same kind of vibe but just a bit more upbeat. Something people could dance to a bit more.”

Ed Case Would Like To Work With Princess Superstar, Anastacia

Ed Case was quoted as saying that there are two artistes he would like to work with and have their vocals on his tracks but it may just not happen.

He said, speaking to the papers “Actually, I would love to work with Princess Superstar and Anastacia.”

“They both have nice vocals and I believe I can work along those voices. But I think nothing like that will happen though. I don’t know why but I think their managers or something like that won’t approve.”

American Idol Ruined Kelly Clarkson’s Voice

Globe magazine reports American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson fears that she may have ruined her voice after a grueling schedule on the show and now with touring and recording her debut album.

“She’s worried that being on the Idol show has wrecked her beautiful voice” a pal said.

“Kelly was encouraged to practice singing every day during the show’s run. It was brutal. Her voice became terribly strained.”

Beenie Man Is The Bossman

Beenie Man’s song ‘Bossman’ featuring his top 20 reggae counterparts Sean Paul and Lady Saw, will be the next release from Beenie’s album, ‘ ropical Storm’. ‘Bossman’ was produced by the Neptunes, who are also responsible for Beenie’s single, ‘Feel It Boy’ featuring Janet Jackson.

Beenie, Sean Paul, and Lady Saw recently shot the video for ‘Bossman’ so it should be on music channels real soon.

The Streets Didn’t Think His Music Would Appeal And Sell

Mike Skinner, also known as The Streets, who again addressed comparisons to fellow white rapper Eminem.

“It’s great to be talked about alongside him and not someone like Vanilla Ice” said Mike Skinner. “But I don’t really think we’re alike really, other than both of us being lairy”. (Brit slang for controversial).

Mike seems as surprised about his success in England as anyone else admitting, “I knew I was doing something no one else had ever done and I knew people would respect it. I never thought it would sell. No one ever thought it would sell. Even the people who bought it never thought it would sell.”
