BBC Radio One asked Felix and Simon from Basement Jaxx whether they would work with Jamelia who recently expressed interest working with the dance group, and they seemed to take the news rather well saying “Yeah, I’d definitely be interested in talking to her about it. Definitely. Maybe over a couple of drinks, ha ha!”
“She looks great in the videos and yeah, she’s a very attractive lady.”
“So, er, I’m sure we can chat about it…”
Razorlight, Jamelia, Minnie Driver and other stars will be performing at Make Trade Fair Live, a unique musical event on September 14 at Hammersmith Apollo, London.
The headline act will be announced on the day itself. In any case, buy your tickets now! Click here to purchase!
Make Trade Fair Live follows on from Oxfam’s Fairplay concert in 2002 which saw Chris Martin, Noel Gallagher and Ms Dynamite together on stage to raise awareness and funds for Oxfam’s Make Trade Fair campaign.
Make Trade Fair Live has been organised by Oxfam to highlight the impact of unfair trade rules on poor farmers in the developing world. Oxfam is working to make trade fair and lift people in the developing world out of poverty.
Half the world’s population is living on less than $2 a day.
If Africa, East Asia, South Asia, and Latin America were to each increase their share of world trade exports by one per cent, the gains in income could lift 128 million people out of poverty.
All profits from Make Trade Fair Live will go to Oxfam.
According to the Mirror, Jamelia has been swept off her feet by Gillingham striker Darren Byfield. Although not a Premiership star, Darren has still been showing Jam some nifty moves by taking the singer on a couple of dates.
Jam has been single for three years after moaning that her diva image was too intimidating for most men. “No guys ever chat me up!” she wailed. “Maybe when someone gets the confidence to come up and say something I’ll go on a date.”
A friend of Jammy’s said “Darren and Jamelia are extremely close. Jamelia’s pretty fussy about the type of guy she goes for and Darren ticks all the right boxes.”
Sky News reports that Jamelia is in line for a guest appearance in the Australian soap Neighbours.
“Yes, I have been approached,” she said.
“My track, Superstar has become massive over there and I don’t know, I am thinking about it. It would be fun.”
