Shania Twain To Be ‘American Idol’ Judge

According to people.com, the lovely Country singer Shania Twain has been lined up to take Paula Abdul’s place on the American Idol judging team in Chicago on August 30/31.

It should be good news for Shania fans who haven’t seen her for a while – she hasn’t released any new material since 2002 when Up! was released as a double album, with three different discs: pop (a red CD), country (a green CD), and Indian film music (a blue CD). However, her record company recently denied that any new releases were imminent, so the appearance on American Idol might be all fans can hope for this year.

Shania Twain And Her Party For Two

Shania Twain’s Greatest Hits album, due out November 9, will contain 21 songs, her big hits and three new songs, Party For Two, Don’t and I Ain’t No Quitter.

The first single, Party For Two, will be playing in radio outlets in September and will be released in two versions. In one version, the Miss India-pretty Shania pairs with Billy Currington. The other is with Sugar Ray frontman, Mark McGrath.

Videos for both versions were recently filmed in Europe and are scheduled to begin airing in September.

“I wanted to put together all of my favorite songs from over the years for a fun, high energy album. This record is exactly that, as well as a dedication to all of the passionate fans that have enjoyed and supported me throughout the years,” exclaims Shania.

Shania Twain Go Up In 2 Different Directions

Miss India-pretty Shania Twain’s new album ‘Up!’ is coming out in two versions, country and pop. She recorded the album in the studio she had built in her 19th century Swiss chateau.

There are two mixes and the two full versions of her album will be released together in the two-CD box.

Both country and pop versions of ‘Up!’ will drop into all good music stores on the 19th of November.

Sources also say that a third version of ‘Up!’ which’ll be a dance mix, may be released at a later date.

Shania Twain And Her Chart History

It’s been almost two years since Shania Twain had a song debut on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. Absence must have made radio’s heart grow fonder, because massive instant airplay on ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good!’ resulted in a Hot Shot Debut designation for the track as it shoots in at No 24.

It’s the highest debut of Shania’s career, besting the No 29 entry of ‘Love Gets Me Every Time.’

Of Shania Twain’s 22 entries on the country chart, only ‘Love Gets Me Every Time’ and the new ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good!’ have entered in the Top 40 regions of the chart.

Should her new offering travel all the way to the top of the charts, it would become the singer’s eighth No 1 hit.

Shania Twain’s Going Up

Miss India-pretty Shania Twain is set to set free her first batch of new material in over five years this winter.

An album entitled ‘Up!’ is to be released in the US on the 12th of November.

It will feature 19 brand-spanking new songs, which have been co-written and produced by Shania’s husband, Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange.

Shania’s 1997 LP ‘Come On Over’ sold 19 million copies in her home country and 34 million units worldwide. Impressive.

Shania Twain To Have New Album Out This Fall

It sure has been quite awhile, hasn’t it, since we last heard from the lovely Miss India-pretty Shania Twain? She’s back in the news and looks like we’ll soon be hearing a whole load from her.

Three years on from her hugely successful ‘Come On Over’ album, Shania Twain has told the press that she has started doing studio time working on her next LP.

The country-pop songstress has joined her producer husband Mutt Lange in their Swiss studio. No official release dates have been set at this time”.
