Black Eyed Peas break US Chart record

Congratulations are being sent out to The Black Eyed Peas today! They have broken US records by hanging on the top spot of the US Singles chart for 20 consecutive weeks! 20 weeks ago they climbed to the top with Boom Boom Pow, which clung to number one for 12 weeks. Their follow-up, I Gotta Feeling, then took over the number one position, giving the Peas a record-breaking 20 weeks on the chart. Previously, the record for being on the top of the charts was held by Usher, who had hits Yeah! and Burn rule the charts for 19 weeks in 2004.

Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie Pals With Cameron Diaz

Black Eyed Peas star Fergie thanks actress Cameron Diaz for sparking her love for surfing.

Fergie has forged a close friendship with the Charlie’s Angels star and is eternally grateful as she “encouraged” the Hey Mama singer to take up the water sport.

And Ms Fergie insists there is no rivalry between the pair over Justin Timberlake who Cameron Diaz started dating last year because her romance with the Senorita vocalist was never that serious.

She explains “It was a flirt fest. He was 17, I was 23. At first I wouldn’t date him because he was too young. It was never serious, but we had a bond.”

Black Eyed Peas And Their Burnt Studio

The Black Eyed Peas have been forced to flee a Los Angeles recording studio after it went up in flames.

They’re recording their new album Monkey Business and had candles burning inside the studio.

Unfortunately, whilst they were having a break a fire broke out. Guitars, keyboards, drums, microphones and classic instruments they’d picked up during their travels all went up in smoke, but they did manage to salvage some computer equipment before calling the fire department.

A very shocked Apl.de.Ap from the band described what went on. “It was like ‘Yo, the studio is on fire!’, and we just came in and grabbed our stuff.”

“It looks dangerous. It was dark everywhere and pretty smokey in there.”

“It’s really scary, until you are in a fire you don’t know how scary it is.”

The band managed to escape with a recording they had just finished and a couple of charred guitars, however the damage has been estimated at over GBP300,000.
