Bono Writes Poetic Song For Andrea Corr

Bono has co-written a new song for Andrea Corr, the lead singer for the famous sibling band, The Corrs.

He has teamed up with Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer on a new song called ‘Time Enough For Tears’ and it will be featured on the soundtrack to Jim Sheridan’s new film ‘In America’.

“Bono saw the film and was blown away by it” Gavin Friday tells his official website. “He wanted to work with us and something happened, organically.”

“It’s very poetic, very romantic, very vulnerable and naked. It’s a beautiful song.”

‘In America’ is slated to be due out next year.

U2 And Their Electrical Storm In France

U2 shot video footage for its forthcoming single, ‘Electrical Storm’ on a French Beach in Eze, near singer Bono’s home there last week.

According to an eyewitness report posted on U2France.com, Bono and drummer Larry Mullen Jr. were both dressed in black, with Larry standing at the edge of a tub filled with water and a bathing mermaid. Scenes were also shot of the mermaid on a garden swing.

The Irish Echo newspaper identified the mermaid as 25 year old actress Samantha Morton, who co-starred with Tom Cruise and Colin Farrell in the film ‘Minority Report’ as a futuristic oracle.

Recorded in Dublin, London, and France, ‘Electrical Storm’ is one of the new tracks slated for U2’s ‘Greatest Hits’ 1990-2000 collection, scheduled for release on DVD and CD in November.

U2 Set To Release Single

U2 are apparently set to release a new single on the 21st of October.

At the moment, it’s unclear what the title of the song is going to be but the safe money is on the much talked about new song, ‘The Hands That Built America’, which has been heard on U2’s page http://www.u2.com and appears on the soundtrack to Martin Scorcese’s new film, ‘Gangs Of New York’.

The single is set to appear around a month before their second greatest hits collection arrives on the 18th of November. ‘Best Of 1990 – 2001’ will feature all of Bono and company’s singles from that period, such as ‘Even Better Than The Real Thing’, ‘One’, ‘The Fly’ and more.

Two DVDs are set to follow the release, one featuring the videos of their hits and the other featuring their gig at Slane Castle last year.
