The singer travelled to a studio in London last week to write new material, and she is recording later this week. Victoria recently signed a GBP1.5million deal with Telstar and is concentrating on her solo career. But the mother of two spoke exclusively to 3am to tell them that she will not be a judge on the next series of Pop Idol, despite other tabloids claiming she wants to emulate former bandmate Geri Halliwell. She told 3am’s Jessica: “I’m not going to be a judge on Pop Idol. I’ve never even watched the show. I’m busy working on my new album at the moment.” “I have no plans to do any TV programmes and I don’t want to be a TV presenter. “There aren’t many stories about me which make me laugh but I can honestly say David and I cracked up when we read the latest offering. It’s total nonsense.”Friends close to the star also said she is back to her old self and has not become a virtual prisoner in her mansion. “She went shopping on Bond Street last week. On Tuesday Victoria and David went to see Elton John play in Manchester and then went to dinner with him,” says our source. “She is getting on with her life and won’t let the nasty internet rumours or kidnap attempt get to her.”

N.E.R.D Gets Political With New Single

N.E.R.D.’s Pharrell Williams spoke to reporters recently and said that it’s important to have a message with your song, and they’ll deliver one on their next UK double A side coming out at the end of February, with ‘Lapdance’, which compares American politics to table dancing and ‘Provider’, about a man who has to sell drugs to keep his family together.

“I’d rather share my wealth, and to me wealth is not placed in a piece of paper, it’s inside you. So you’ve got to offer that to the world” Pharell said.

“I think that as long as I am rich, I owe it to the world for the rest of my life to just let people know and let the kids definitely know. It’s not about money it’s about being happy. Plus smiling is for free so I’d recommend people do that more.”

Maria Phelan of the Las Vegas Weekly reviewed India.Arie’s performance at MGM’s EFX Theatre that was thrown on the 23rd of November. Maria writes, “India and her group felt their freedom throughout the show by varying their performances from album versions with extended solos, dancing and even some stories, which occasionally snuck out during vamps in the songs.”

Geri Halliwell pulled a diva act when she attended her record company EMI’s Christmas party at new club No5 in London’s Cavendish Square on Wednesday night.

Geri demanded bosses reserve one of the eight hotel rooms for her and her hangers on even though the label’s more successful acts Damon Albarn, Coldplay and Supergrass were fine with mingling with the company bigwigs.

“She wanted another room so her and her friends could escape from the bigwigs” a source said.

Kelly Rowland has exclusively revealed that Destiny’s Child is hatching plans for its next group project in 2003.

“We’re going to come back together in the summertime and start recording Destiny’s Child’s new record, and so in fall, we’d got a new DC record out” Kelly said.

“We’ll have to, of course, get into the studio and set the tone, and I think that when we do we’ll be bringing a whole bunch of elements from what we’ve been doing individually back into Destiny’s Child, and it’s going to be engaging and beautiful.”

H said, “It’s really weird. I don’t why our fans send stuff like that to us. Masala powders I can understand. Vegetables too. But mops?”

Natalie Imbruglia is planning on relocating back home in Australia after basing herself in Britain the past seven years. Natalie wants to spend more time with boyfriend and Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns.

“I’ve been down to Melbourne to see friends and then drove back up to Sydney via Canberra with a couple of them” said the lovely singer. “And then it was up to mum and dad’s place and then Newcastle. I’ve been everywhere.”

“I have just brought my dog back here. She just got out of quarantine and she’s up at mum and dad’s so I have now made all the steps towards spending more time in Australia.”
