Javine Hilton’s been asked to contribute a cover version of the heart-warming Carole King song You’ve Got A Friend to the forthcoming computer-animated cartoon cat flick Garfield: The Movie.
And you can hear it yourself when the song is released as a single on the 16 August.
An excited mate of hers, from Girls Aloud, Nadine has told all who’d listen “It’s a Hollywood blockbuster so of course Javine was over the moon when she was asked to sing the track.”
Norah Jones has done it again. Her sophomore album, the brilliant Feels Like Home has hit the quadruple-platinum mark, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Since its April release this year, the half Caucasian/half Indian soultress’ album has shipped four million copies to US retailers, and that’s not counting the other millions she has sold all over the world.
The album includes the hit Sunrise. The RIAA also recently certified Norah Jones’ Grammy-winning debut, Come Away With Me, to nine times platinum.

Apparently, word on the street is Mya’s romance with Lil Jon has ended. She hasn’t started dating yet. But guess who the crunk rapper has his eyes on now?
Lil Jon has begun dating another hot singer, the lovely and petite Ms Dip It Low, Christina Milian.
Just like he and Mya hooked up while producing tracks for her, Lil Jon also won Christina Milian’s heart in the studio. They’re said to be so into each other.
The new Darren Hayes single, out 23 August, sounds not only like Kylie Minogue’s Slow but also like Fischerspooner’s Emerge and M’s Pop Muzik, whch maes it so brilliant. It’s entitled Popular.
As you might expect from Darren Hayes, Popular seems to be a satire on the music industry.
The chorus is all “I’m willing to sleep my way to the top, I want to be pop…ular / I don’t wanna keep my feet on the ground, I wanna be popular”, and the middle eight has a brilliant bit which goes “My friends are all in limousines, my friends are all celebrities… I just sold my soul”.
This will probably be a total commercial disaster but it’s absolutely spectacular. Keep a lookout for it.
Kylie Minogue is reported to have performed a 30-minute set at the wedding of an Indian steel tycoon’s daughter.
Reports in the Indian press claim the Australian star was paid around GBP200,000 for her performance, which began with recent hit Slow.
The party was held at Parc St-Cloud outside Paris and was just part of a week of French celebrations believed to be costing billionaire businessman Lakshmi Mittal around GBP40 million.
According to onlookers, a husky voice was heard offstage just after midnight before the enchantress appeared wearing a black minidress.
One guest said “I pinched myself when Kylie, singing at a private function for the first time, sang Slow. People didn’t have dessert as her performance was more tempting.”
The Indian tycoon is reported to have flown Kylie to Paris on his private jet for the show. His newly-wedded daughter, Vanisha, is said to be a huge fan.
Ex Atomic Kitten star Jenny Frost is all set to premiere her new solo material soon.
She’ll be performing her solo material, supposedly entitled Dirty Love, at Party in the Park in Wales on July 24.

As we’ve all heard, Chloe walked out on Clea a few weeks back, citing reasons like she wasn’t achieving much in Clea anyway to ones like “I’m going to carve a solo career for myself”.
Where does that leave the rest of the girls then, namely Lindsay, Emma and Aimee? Well, they have vowed to not disappoint their fans and carry on. Apparently, word is out that they are going into the studios once more to re-record some new songs and put out a brand new single in the coming months.
Another rumour is that the girls are going to re-record Sprung for their third single.

Christina Aguilera has revealed that she is currently working on two new album releases.
Christina Aguilera, who released current album Stripped in October 2002, has posted a new audio message on christinaaguilera.com apologising for cancelling her summer shows.
She says “I’ve been writing and recording and putting my heart and soul into this next vision that I have for the next album. And I’m also working on my next Spanish album, to follow-up to my first one which was many years ago it seems like to me, maybe to you, too.”
Part-Ecuadorian Ms Dirrty released the Spanish-language album Mi Reflejo in September 2000, featuring translated versions of songs from her eponymous October 1999 debut.
She adds that she’s also at work on a new image “I’ve been kind of flirting with old ’20s, ’30s, ’40s, ’50s looks and styles and movies and old pin-ups – kind of this old Hollywood feel.”
In Touch Weekly reports Justin Timberlake and Lance Bass’ relationship may have turned frosty after the two avoided each other when they both attended a pool party in the Hollywood Hills recently. “They didn’t acknowledge each other,” a source revealed.
“And they wouldn’t go into the pool at the same time.”
Another source speculated Lance’s jealousy over Mr Senorita’s solo success as the cause of the friction. “Lance always thought he was the best singer in the group and definitely not helium voiced Justin,” reasoned the source.
