According to ContactMusic.com, British singer Dido has agreed to write a song for sexy diva Christina Aguilera.
Dido, 32, is so impressed with the Dirrty star’s unusual voice she jumped at the chance to pen a track for her.
The White Flag singer says, “I get approached a lot to write for various people, but I decided to do one for Christina because she has got a unique voice.”
So what’s the latest from the Dido camp?
Word has it that the songstress has already committed herself to plenty of studio time which has resulted in 20 over recordings of new songs.
Now all that needs to be done is to decide which tracks make the final tracklisting.
She has got her heart set on releasing as a first single, a tune called ‘White Flag’. No news yet on how the track sounds.
Dido intends to have the untitled album out in record stroes by October.
Dido tells MTV not to look for an album like her ‘No Angel’ debut when it drops later this year.
“When I made ‘No Angel’, I was in my early 20s, and now I’m 30,” Dido mused. “I’m a completely different person. My world has changed.”
Dido says the tracks on the upcoming disc will be “definitely deeper.”
She adds, “I’ve had quite a bit of mad experiences in the last few years. But it’s the same soundwise, in that I’m writing songs on the piano and guitar and producing them the way I want to listen to, with beats that excite me.”
Dido has told that she was thrilled to scoop the Songwriter Of The Year award at this year’s Ivor Novello Awards and speaking to members of the press after the show, the humble popstar, whose brill ‘No Angel’ album was the biggest-selling album in the UK last year, admitted she was thrilled by the superb honour and said it was “fantastic” that so many people had took the time to make a purchase of her record.
However, Dido also revealed that she isn’t worried about trying to follow-up an album as successful and as critically acclaimed as her debut. “The first album pretty much came together by itself,” she explained, “but I can’t wait for people to get to hear the new one.”
“I’ve started writing the next album, because I really do just want to get on with it,” Dido added, explaining, “I’ve got so many songs and ideas, I want to get them down now.”
When asked when fans can hear her new material taken off her new album, Dido said she wasn’t sure really.
During the ceremony, the ‘Thank You’ vocalistress said “Anyone who knows me knows how much this means to me. Basically all I ever tried to do with my life is experience as much, see as much, learn, do, sense as much as I possible can and just write about it. I feel majorly lucky that so many people have heard my songs around the world.”
