Through his years of experience of dating, breakups, and all that good stuff, Daniel Bedingfield hopes that he can offer his fans some advice.
“Be careful, especially with ‘rebounds’ because you can treat the person you rebound with disrespect. So, be careful and try to give yourself as much time as you need to heal. Be single and not looking. It helps a lot of the times and you have loads of fun and that way, you tend to get really rejuvenated.”
“Then try to go after more long-term good people. It is a lot more worth it to have people who benefit you and speak positive words and bring encouragement into your life, rather than just some pretty girl or guy on the side” explains Daniel.
While Daniel Bedingfield wrote ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ for the “pretty girl from New Jersey” who now is his girlfriend, the singer tells Chris Chandar of Pulse! magazine that to his surprise, audiences worldwide embraced the song’s unaffected lyrics in ways he never imagined.
“There’s a guy who had cancer surgery, and he said the song helped him through it.”
He also revealed “And a girl who wanted to die. She felt the song was a message from God, telling her to get through it. I didn’t realize that because the song meant something to me, it would mean something to others, and it did. It really did.”
Entertainment Weekly profiled Daniel Bedingfield, the UK pop star who is breaking though in America thanks to his hit ‘Gotta Get Through This’.
Asked about the pitfalls of fame, Daniel Bedingfield said, “Sort out who your friends are before you get famous. And get ready to rebuild your life from the ground up, because everything gets thrown upside down.”
He adds that he’s already begun work on a follow-up album that he says will be “much more vulnerable, a lot more angry, quieter and louder.”
Garage star Daniel Bedingfield has revealed that plans are in the pipeline to write a song with Pop Idol contestant Darius.
In an interview, Daniel exposed “I do plan on writing a song for Darius’ album because I like people who write their own stuff. We’re going to talk about it after Top Of The Pops, we’re going to have a chat about it and hopefully get something sorted.”
“I’m really looking forward to it because I think he is a good bloke. I’m quite impressed with what he has done.”
“I’m not a massive fan of Pop Idol but I think he’s done really well for himself and he writes his own songs.”
Daniel, whose garage hit ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ took the charts by storm when it shot straight to No. 1 last year, also expressed his desire to work with David Gray, Coldplay and U2 singer Bono.
“‘Gotta Get Thru This’ was a phenomenon. It wasn’t just about how good the song was. I could put out a better song now and it wouldn’t necessarily stay there for as long as it did” he said.
His new album and single, ‘James Dean (I Wanna Know)’, which, like his last was made in his bedroom, can be found in stores now.
Daniel Bedingfield, who scored a No 1 hit with ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ is collaborating with Mariah Carey on future tracks. The two artists are both signed to Island Def Jam in the US.
US producers, The Neptunes are lined up to produce the tracks. Daniel, who has also contributed a track to H & Claire’s debut album, says “I see myself very much as a writer. Barry White, Sting and Ms Dynamite are also on my list of people I would like to write with.”
Daniel is currently putting the finishing touches to his debut album, ‘Gotta Get Thru This’ due for release in August. His new single, ‘James Dean’ is released on 5th of August. The singer is also expected to tour later in the year.
