A1’s Mark Read Questions R&B’s Future

With R&B music all the rage at the moment, it isn’t surprising that the likes of Hear’Say, Liberty X and 3SL are clamouring to get their hands on songs that have a cool soul groove.

But a1’s Mark Read isn’t so sure that it’s a good idea for everyone to jump on the bandwagon because the craze for slinky R&B beats may soon pass.

“Pop music goes in cycles” he told a magazine. “And although R&B is big now people will get bored of it. Pop has a future but it’ll be something we’ve not seen before – two styles mixing together that no one was expecting – rock and reggae or something.”

Meanwhile, it’s been revealed that, after their appearance on US soap ‘The Young & The Restless’, singer Ben Adams has been offered a speaking part in a future episode.
