Nick Carter Speaks Out About His Split From Paris Hilton

Nick Carter has spoken out about his split from girlfriend Paris Hilton, complaining the pair couldn’t trust each other.

Speaking exclusively to America’s People magazine, the 1/5 of Backstreet Boys insists the split was mutual, despite his socialite ex’s claims she called the romance off after advice from a psychic.

Nick says, “Our relationship totally was based on distrust. She didn’t trust me. I didn’t trust her. We both got on the phone, had a discussion and agreed we couldn’t do this anymore. I just want everybody to know that I’m single and ready to have fun again. I’m a wild and crazy guy.”

Meanwhile, Nick Carter insists he doesn’t regret having Paris’ name tattooed on his wrist three weeks ago because he’ll always love The Simple Life star.

He adds, “She’ll have a place in my heart, always.”

Delta Goodrem To Release New Album In November

Delta Goodrem will release her 2nd album in November after recording several final tracks in Britain.

After describing her new-found level of energy, which is precious to the 19 year old vocalistress of songs like Innocent Eyes, given her battle with Hodgkin’s disease, said her new CD was likely to be released in four months.

Not only has she been busy recording new tracks in London, Delta Goodrem has also enjoyed a few local dance classes-just for the fun of it.

The singer seemed very relaxed away from the intense media pressure in Australia, and admitted she has enjoyed taking time out overseas.

Interestingly, mum Lea Goodrem, who accompanied her soap actress turned singer daughter to the US and Britain in the past few months has returned to Australia. Delta is spending time in London with her boyfriend Mark Philippoussis, but also focussing on finalising the tracklistings for the album.

Justin Timberlake To Play Elvis Presley?

Liz Smith of The New York Post is hearing a hot rumor out of Los Angeles that Justin Timberlake will interpret Elvis Presley in a Miramax stage venture, to be titled All Shook Up.

Justin’s people say “absolutely no way” and Miramax didn’t return Liz Smith’s phone calls.

Liz writes, “Justin Timberlake has admitted to admiring the late legend, but it is unlikely he’d want to draw comparisons in an impersonation. And at this point even the most sincere Presley imitation comes off like parody. That said, I think Justin would be an excellent ’50s-era Elvis.”

Eve Loves Indian and Mexican Food

Female rapper, Eve was asked in an interview the kind of food she loves.

She said “I seem to have developed a taste for spicy food. I love Indian food these days. It’s lovely. To die for. An aphrodisiac some say. Mexican too. I am always asking for spicy food. It’s hot.”

In the meantime, Eve says she is still finalizing the final cuts to make her new album and should release her first single later in the year.

Jamelia Offered Soap Role

Sky News reports that Jamelia is in line for a guest appearance in the Australian soap Neighbours.

“Yes, I have been approached,” she said.

“My track, Superstar has become massive over there and I don’t know, I am thinking about it. It would be fun.”

MTV VMA’s Nomination List Out, Beyonce And Jay Z Lead

Jay Z and his Destiny’s Child girlfriend Beyonce Knowles led the pack when nominations for the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards were announced on Tuesday morning.

Mr Encore got six nods, Beyonce, along with No Doubt, Usher and Outkast got five each.

Britney Spears, Kanye West, Steriogram, White Stripes and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs all notched four nominations, while Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, D12, Jet and Modest Mouse scored three.

Christina Aguilera, Franz Ferdinand, Hoobastank, Jessica Simpson, Maroon 5, Missy Elliott, the Darkness and Yellowcard also head into the show with multiple nominations.

Hoobastank, Usher and Kanye West are among those scheduled to perform when the MTV VMA 2004 takes place in Miami come August 29.

Christina Milian Comments On Britney’s Relationship

In Touch magazine spoke with Christina Milian who commented on Britney Spears’ engagement to Kevin Federline. “I think it’s funny,” the Dip It Low beauty said.

“They’re young. I hope she’s happy. I know Kevin personally as he used to be my dancer. He’s a really nice guy who loves his baby.”

“A lot of people don’t know him. They just know him from pictures and stuff about Britney. I hope the best for them.”

Is Brandy Hiding In Shame?

The New York Daily News reports Brandy was supposed to meet with “crisis manager” Dyanna Williams after ex “husband” Robert Smith claimed their marriage was a sham, but backed out.

She also bailed out of a half dozen interviews in New York and flew to Los Angeles. She’s basically hiding in her home and is refusing to come out.

Courtney Barnes, one of the singer’s handlers, argues Brandy “postponed” the Q&As to prepare for a video shoot.

“Brandy isn’t in hiding. She’s preparing for the video to her next single. You guys will see her soon.”
