Beyonce Knowles And The House Of Dereon

Destiny’s Child star Beyonce Knowles and her mother Tina announced the name of their highly anticipated clothing line on Wednesday, The House Of Dereon (pronounced as De – Ron).

The line, named after Tina Knowles’ mother and Beyonce’s grandmother, honors the woman who worked as a seamstress for a living and started Tina’s love of fashion.

The line, inspired by three generations of women who have joined together in a labor of love, is expected to hit stores in Fall 2005. A hip-haute fashion legacy begins while unprecedented anticipation on the part of retailers and consumers continues to build for the debut of the women’s contemporary fashion line.

Beyonce says, “To me, this is the greatest way to enter into the fashion world. Inspired by my grandmother, working with my mother and pursuing a dream we have all had for many years establishing an important fashion company.”

The People Who Are Working On The New Destiny’s Child Album

Looks like the new Destiny’s Child album is coming out real soon. The following are who they’re working with.

So far, Destiny’s Child have logged studio time with Rockwilder and are talking with Kanye West and Rich Harrison whose work credits include Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige and who produced songs for both Kelly Rowland and Beyonce’s solo albums, including the latter’s Crazy in Love.

The group is also excited to discover and expose some lesser-known producers.

“I remember when we worked with She’kspere and he didn’t really work with anybody before and we came out with Bills, Bills, Bills and people were excited about that,” Kelly Rowland said, speaking to MTV.”

“Survivor, produced by Anthony Dent was the same thing. We want to deliver the same kind of ingredients, but just a little bit more mature. The album’s going to be fab.”

Sounds good girls. Keep it up.

Ex-Destiny’s Child Singer To Release Debut Solo Album

Former Destiny’s Child star Farrah Franklin exposed the secret the other day that she has just signed a deal with Fabulous’s record label, Street Family, which is a branch off of the Desert Storm label. She has already recorded songs with Fabulous and Method Man.

Farrah said she had a few options as far as labels went but she liked the idea of being with a family unit. She also said that her music will be different from Destiny’s Child. “It’s really going to be young, fun, and sexy. It’s like me. People will actually get to hear me sing unlike the last time. And besides, I wrote most of the songs on the album so it’s very “me”” she said.

The striking lady also said that she holds no grudges against the women of Destiny’s Child. “I don’t have any grudges against them. I have even spoken with their member Michelle Williams in the past year and am glad that she was able to move on and do what she’s doing now. That girl’s the sweetest.”

New Destiny’s Child LP In Fall 2003

Kelly Rowland has exclusively revealed that Destiny’s Child is hatching plans for its next group project in 2003.

“We’re going to come back together in the summertime and start recording Destiny’s Child’s new record, and so in fall, we’d got a new DC record out” Kelly said.

“We’ll have to, of course, get into the studio and set the tone, and I think that when we do we’ll be bringing a whole bunch of elements from what we’ve been doing individually back into Destiny’s Child, and it’s going to be engaging and beautiful.”

Kelly Rowland’s Solo LP Review Not Very Positive

Daniel Levin Becker of the Yale Daily News reviewed the debut solo effort of Destinys’ Child star Kelly Rowland, giving ‘Simply Deep’ a negative verdict.

“Not only does Kelly Rowland’s solo turn come across as stale and relatively derivative, but it also fails at the crucial task of setting her apart from her sisters” Daniel said.

“Its strengths are little different from the strengths of ‘Survivor’, while its weak moments range from the nondescript to the notably unpleasant. She covers very little new ground, when she breaks off on her own, she sounds uneasy and hesitant, and when she doesn’t she seems to lack the heart she has with the rest of her group.”
