Hear Nick Lachey’s Solo Debut Here

I’ve managed to hear an exclusive 2 minute promo of former 98 Degrees frontman, Nick Lachey’s solo debut single.

It’s called ‘Shut Up’ and it ain’t that bad actually. Quite refreshing. It was co-wrriten and produced by the Matrix Crew whose work credits include Avril Lavigne.

Nick also plans to having a R&B ballad he wrote for his pop chanteuse, Jessica Simpson make the final cut for his debut album. Called ‘Edge Of Eternity’, he said “I love this track because i wrote it with her in my mind. She loves it too. I want this to be found on my LP.”

Nick Lachey To Drop New Album Sometime In Summer 2003

Like I reported last year, 98 Degrees’ Nick Lachey will be following in the footsteps of Nick Carter, Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez to try his luck at solo commerical success.

The husband of Jessica Simpson has completed about a dozen songs for his as-yet-untitled solo album, all planned to drop this summer.

Apparently, the new material is funky and more guitar-driven than that of his group. That, according to Nick Lachey’s spokesperson.

Although one hasn’t been chosen yet, a single is expected to surface and played on radio stations in about two months time.

Nick Lachey Speaks About His Impending Wedding To Jessica Simpson

Launch.com chatted with 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey about his impending marriage to Jessica Simpson.

While only offering that the marriage would occur this month, Nick explained, “It’s just something that, you know, was definitely the right time and the right thing to do.”

“You know, we’ve grown a lot together and separately, and I don’t think there’s a doubt in either of our minds that it’s the right thing to do, the right timing and everything.”

Nick Lachey Wrote Over 30 Songs For Solo Album

Articles imply that 98 Degrees star Nick Lachey’s solo album is going full steam ahead. Nick has by now writing 30 songs and says it will have a bit of a George Michael vibe to it.

To be included in his LP is a title called ‘Out Of Time’ which was co-written by Richard Marx. Another track’s called ‘Edge of Eternity’, a number based on his upcoming marriage to Jessica Simpson.

Meantime his brother Drew Lachey is acting and Justin Jaffre is managing a goth rock band.

98 Degrees should be back with another group album in a couple years.

Nick and Jessica are preparing for their big wedding day in October.

Nick Lachey Working On Solo LP

MTV.com recently reported that the lads from 98 Degrees are taking a break before recording their next album. So chances are, that would probably mean one of them will most likely try his hand at solo stardom.

So who’s doing just that? It is none other than Nick Lachey, who is currently working on his first solo record. But don’t worry, he insists the group is not breaking up.

He worked with several producers in England and Los Angeles including Linda Perry who recently helped Pink out on her latest record.

While the project is still in the beginning stages he hopes to do a duet, maybe collaborations, but he knows this one will be a lot more rock than pop. “Yeah, it’s going to be a little more, where 98 Degrees wasn’t and more in a guitar-driven area. Different but not so crazy so much so that people are shocked by it. Am just trying to evolve, do something new.”

His solo record is expected out early next year.

98 Degrees To Release Greatest Hits CD

There were rumours going around for some time that seem to imply that 98 Degrees, known for their many hits like ‘Invisible Man’ and ‘Give Me Just One Night’, have split up.

With hopes to quash those rumours, according to their official website, 98 Degrees, made up of brothers Drew and Nick Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre, are still very much together as a band and are just merely taking a break.

They plan to release ‘The Collection CD’ tentatively sometime in May, filled with their old hits dating back to the past 5 years and a brand new single entitled ‘Why’ out on the 12th of March.
